Brown Lipstick is coming back. It has always been second to the hotter more popular pink and red colors. What many women do not know is that brown is extremely flexible and can take you to any place you like. A deep rich chocolate brown works with any complexion and is far superior to black lip. For those with darker skin a perfect brown can make a nude effect bringing out the eyes. It is not right for everybody but it does have certain perks!

Skin Tones

Light: Light skin tones should be warned. Going too light or close to your skin tone, may leave you looking washed out. Brown lipsticks with red or orange undertones are safe and contrast perfectly with ivory complexions.

Medium: Beautiful and Warm Olive Complexions have a lot of options for brown. Steer clear of brown lipsticks with red or green undertones. They give a ruddy appearance. Dark-Crimson brown are fair game however, as are yellow undertones. Going for the Vampy Look? Try a Chocolate Shade over the Dark black look.

Dark: To be successful with an earthy shade such as brown, success comes hand in hand with contrasting. Nude Browns that wash out everyone else match perfectly with dark-skinned ladies. Try a soft tan, coffee- or pink-toned nude.

The Expert Lipcolor in Dantrice | $35

This is a warmer, richer brown which is hydrating and makes your lips feel quenched. The staying power is exception despite that. For burgundies this shade has undertones that are red.

By Terry

Rouge Terrybly Lipstick in #104 Bimbo Brown | $49

This is an extremely rich, texture that melts on and applies easily. The undertone is chalky so it cools down the lips once applied. If using the anti-aging formula will plump a bit also.
