PETIT DÉJEUNER

If your loved one is still sleeping by your side, get up, put some lipstick on and start cracking some eggs.

Grey sunday mornings means cuddling under the sheets till late am and coffee in bed. Or inviting your friends over for a classy brunch on Memorial day long weekend…with mimosas of course!

Here are some of our all-time favourite dishes worthy of an Instagram picture! Some original ideas to impress your hubby, who doesn’t like breakfast in bed?

Salty

Fancy Frittata

Another lighter version on the completely loaded oven-baked omelet, produced making use of shredded potatoes to evoke a crust. For the creamy texture, we went with fat-free half-and-half and eggs studded with lean ham, asparagus, shallots and a touch of Gruyère.

Soft-boiled eggs with asparagus soldiers

This recipe hits the trifecta of standard offerings, but is presented in a absolutely unique way. Cured pork, including prosciutto, is wrapped about fresh asparagus spears and roasted, then served alongside soft-boiled eggs for dipping. The dish can also be low carb and gluten absolutely free, in the event you retain track of these sorts of factors.

Migas

Give Sunday morning a Tex-Mex twist with this egg dish, which comes from the Portland barbecue joint Podnah’s Pit. This version is lovely (and makes great use of stale tortillas), but really feel free to adapt based on whatever ingredients you have got knocking around your fridge: tomatoes, chorizo, cilantro, etc.

Sweet

Savory Bread Pudding

This warm, savory one-dish meal can also be referred to as a strata. Having a bit of leftover bread, some eggs, vegetables and cheese, you can make this in minutes. You are able to add meat (stir in crumbled bacon or browned Italian sausage) or not, and use what ever vegetables and herbs you have on hand. And do not really feel wedded to the quantities listed; make it drier with extra bread or additional custardy with extra milk and/or eggs.

Blueberry Cream Cheese French Toast Casserole

Consider of this glorious brunch casserole as “French Toast Bread Pudding,” and also you get the concept. Dried-out bread does a lovely job of soaking up the custard and holds its shape with out turning into mush. Stale bread is cut into cubes initial, then baked inside a casserole dish in conjunction with blueberries and cubes of melty cream cheese.

Chocolate Zucchini Bread

This vegan and gluten-free recipe comes from Portland’s Back to Eden Bakery. It’s moist, delicious, and easy to prepare. It even comes with each other in 1 bowl!

Cinnamon Monkey Bread

For the reason that this pull-apart bread is produced using frozen bread dough, it’s deliriously simple to make. Just remember to start thawing the dough inside the refrigerator on Friday evening or Saturday morning in the most recent.

Enjoy!
